<description>U.S. Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich.) will be the inaugural speaker for the Philip A. Hart and William G. Milliken Endowed Speaker Series for Integrity in Politics. Senator Levin was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1978 and reelected in 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. He is the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he has earned a reputation as a strong supporter of our national defense, a tireless advocate on behalf of our service men and women, and an effective fighter against wasteful government spending.  The Hart/Milliken Speaker Series challenges interested parties to approach politics in a way that embraces America's diversity of ideas and perspectives. It brings to campus individuals from the public and private sectors who have demonstrated a commitment to stimulating positive change in the public policy arena.</description>

<description>Click!  Features the photographic works of artist Juanita Baldwin, of Okemos, MI.  Originally a geographer from La Serena, Chile, Ms. Baldwin’s artwork has been shown in numerous solo and juried exhibitions throughout the state of Michigan and across the United States where it has been a national award winner.  A member of the Mid Michigan Art Guild, Ms. Baldwin’s photography encompasses a variety of subjects, using natural elements such as light, color, and texture to enhance the composition of each piece.  Capturing each image with a single click, Ms. Baldwin then studies the images to showcase their inherent complexities of natural beauty and abstraction.  Opening Reception and Artists’ Gallery Talk will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Baber Room.   The exhibition and opening reception are free and open to the public. A member of the Mid Michigan Art Guild, Ms. Baldwin’s photography encompasses a variety of subjects, using natural elements such as light, color, and texture to enhance the composition of each piece.  Capturing each image with a single click, Ms. Baldwin then studies the images to showcase their inherent complexities of natural beauty and abstraction.  Opening Reception and Artists’ Gallery Talk will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Baber Room.   The exhibition and opening reception are free and open to the public.
