Details Captain (Ret.) William R. Talcott, '66, presents "You Will Receive More Than a Commission," as the keynote speaker for the COL William B. Nolde Lecture Series. Talcott served for 11 months in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne Division as an Infantry Platoon Leader, Reconnaissance Platoon Leader and Assistant S-3. His decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge, 2 Bronze Stars for Valor, a Bronze Star for Service, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry as an individual award. He also completed three years of active duty with the 3rd Brigade of the 82nd at Fort Bragg as the Assistant S-3. He was honorably discharged in 1971 and then worked for 40 years in employee benefits sales and sales management in Chicago.
