  • What can we say on the stability of Solar systems, particle systems, galaxies, fluids, plasmas,... Will they remain stable forever or undergo catastrophes and can we predict that?  Are there common features, wide differences?  This is a long on-going story with many chapters.

When Planification and Statistical Mechanics Meet in the Non-Euclidean World

  • Putting together entrophy functionals and optimization in Monge-Kantorovich style has led to the solution of various problems of synthetic nonsmooth Riemannian geometry; recent advances shed a new light on calssical theories.

About the Fleming Lecture Series:

  • CMU Professor Emeritus Richard Fleming founded The Fleming​ Lecture Series upon his retirement in 2007.  The objective of the series is to bring speakers to CMU to present lectures on topics of general interest in mathematics or lectures of special interest to mathematics students and faculty.
