In an online course, students and faculty can sometimes struggle with creating authentic, interactive experiences. This training will help faculty learn how to build strong, active, student-driven communities within the virtual classroom. Attendees will participate first in a discussion exploring the importance of 'community' in an online environment and how it impacts both learners and faculty. This will be followed by a presentation of three tools that foster activity and conversation in the online classroom which build a strong sense of community between students and faculty.
