Blackburn Endowed Lecture Series on the Civil War and Reconstruction presents Dr. Edward Ayers, the Tucker-Boatwright Professor of the Humanities and President Emeritus of the University of Richmond. He is a historian of the American South and has written and edited 10 books, including The Promise of the New South: Life After Reconstruction and In the Presence of Mine Enemies: Civil War in the Heart of America
