While it is not best practice for the instructor to facilitate dialogue, having facilitation skills improves collaboration with peer facilitators and enhances the understanding of the dynamics of intergroup dialogue. We will start by reviewing the main goals of intergroup dialogue--listening to understand, engaging all participants, and using personal experience and course content to develop a shared understanding of the issues. The major portion of the session will be devoted to (1) the question of how to achieve these goals using a non-judgmental facilitation style and (2) the examination of our personal experiences related to course content (including our personal social identity profile, socialization into this society, and
